Blue Ribbon

The Parent Resource Center (PRC)
is located at the B Street Community Center, 57  Birch St., Lewiston, and offers a wide range of parent education and support services for all families.


On-going activities and resources at the PRC include:
 
• Play group:
For moms and dads with children age 5
and under to come together, play and share
experiences: Date: Mondays
Time: 10—11am Location:
Advocates for Children Fee: Free.

 

 
• Cookies & Crafts:
For families to make crafts together, and have
tasty and nutritious snacks. See monthly
schedule in the calendar of events.
Date: Thursdays Time: 10—11am
 Location: Advocates for Children Fee: Free.
 

Open Play Time:
Come play with your friends in the Parent Resource Center!
From 1 to 3 p.m. every Wednesday.

Please note: There will not be a staff member present, and the play time is unstructured.
 

Kids Firstsm Parenting through Separation and Divorce:
A 4-hour educational program for parents who are in the process of separation or divorce. Learn how to lessen the negative impact experienced by your children. Classes are held one Saturday per month, 8 a.m. to Noon.
Dates:
      March 1 •  April 5  • 
May 10 •  June 14 •  Aug. 9
      Sept. 13
•  Oct. 11 •  Nov. 8 •  Dec. 13

 Fee: $60/person; some scholarship money available.

Parenting Workshops:
A variety of workshops on parenting issues are offered throughout the year. * Check out the Calendar of Events for an up-to-date list. Specific topics include:  Parenting 101: Good Discipline, Good Kids, Parenting 201: Keeping Peace at Home, 1-2-3-4 Parents!, Active Parenting Now, Active Parenting of Teens, The Nurturing Fathers Program, Boot Camp for New Dads, and much more.

 
• Parenting Wisely:
A computer-based program for parents of young children and teens. Learn assertive discipline skills, "I" statements, how to set consequences, and more. Free. Appointment required. 783-3990.
